Level 2 (GCSE)
During your apprenticeship with the Arden, we will train you on all areas of the kitchen as part of your daily duties, alongside:
- Mastering preparation
- Mastering different cooking techniques
- Help you develop an understanding of the business
- Maintaining the highest hygiene standards to
- Understanding the costs balance
The Hotel operates a varied internationally inspired À La Carte and Table D’hòte menu’s as well a very popular Sunday lunch menu, along side catering for events, weddings and business meeting.
You will be working alongside the kitchen team to prepare and cook for customers.
Requirements and prospects
Good communication skills.
Kitchens depend on reliable team players, we need you to become part of the team.
Candidates must have a minimum level of English and maths GCSE Grade 2 or equivalent. upskilling to grade 4 is available and would be a requirement of the course.
Commis Chefs can expect to advance onto Chef de Partie or front of house roles as positions become available.
Hospitality qualifications often give you the opportunity to take promotions in this country and abroad.

The Hotel caterers for Business meeting, Staycations in Brum, visitors to the NEC and airport as well as a lively Wedding and event calendar.
