The Alexandra and Fairhaven Hotel are looking to recruit a Hospitality Supervisor at their Hotel based in the heart of Weymouth. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in developing a longstanding career in Hospitality and at the same time will naturally be polite, hardworking and able to use their own initiative. 

As this is a front facing position, a smart and friendly appearance is essential. 

Having said that it is within a family run business with limited staff so the job could involve working within any of the departments:

These duties could be:

  • Basic reception duties
  • Dealing with customers in the reception
  • Helping with the breakfast service
  • Serving drinks in the bar (age dependant)
  • Serving soft drinks
  • Housekeeping duties

The ideal candidate needs to be flexible, hardworking and able to switch priorities as and when required.

Personal qualities

Reliable, smart appearance and willing to switch priories as required. 

Desired qualifications

Maths and English GCSE or equivalent grade 4/C and above would be good but again not essential.

(Functional skills classes will need to be attended for GCSE grade 3 and lower)

Future prospects

Prospect of progression to a higher level apprenticeship qualification and to progress within the business. Prospect of a permanent position for the right candidate on completion of the Apprenticeship.

Things to consider

From 1st April 2022, the National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £4.81 per hour.  This rises annually as set by government. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of an Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

The Alexandra and Fairhaven Hotels are a family run business in the heart of Weymouth and comprises of two hotels. The Alexandra Hotel has 19 Rooms and the Fairhaven Hotel has 45 rooms and is being refurbished ready for early next year.
