Duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Contribute to the provision of a safe, well maintained and stimulating play environment in which children are able to play freely
- Assist Lead Practitioners in the planning, preparation and implementation of activities which meet the children’s individual needs
- Assist the Lead Practitioners in the assessment of children
- Work face-to-face with the children who are registered within
- Follow guidelines, policies and procedures for safe-guarding children as recommended by the registering Authority
- Administer First Aid as appropriate
- Administer intimate care for all children
- Contribute to and be involved in, liaison with parents, schools and other agencies as appropriate
- Assist the Lead Practitioners to develop best practices which meet identified quality indicators
- Assist the Manager in the day to day administration and record keeping
- Assist in the maintenance of appropriate records, registers and reports to ensure legal and regulatory requirements are met
- Attend internal and external meetings/courses as necessary, to ensure the successful delivery and development of the service
- Assist the Nursery Manager in ensuring that all aspects of the service provision meet the requirements of relevant legislation. For example The Children’s Act 2004
- Undertake Health and Safety responsibilities which fall within the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) 1974
