Working under the supervision of the Directors the candidate will provide professional and efficient support to the firm and will be trained in the following duties:
- Providing administrative support
- Closing completed files
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing calls ensuring all are dealt with promptly and efficiently in a courteous manner and referred to appropriate staff - providing basic information where required.
- Performing other duties such as assisting with basic enquiries, filing, photocopying, collating, faxing, scanning etc.
- Filing and general administrative duties
- Receiving and sorting daily mail
- Assisting with other administrative tasks as required
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- Relevant admin experience preferable but not essential
- Accurate data entry with a good attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to use a busy, multi-line switchboard in a professional and efficient manner
- Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
- Good organisational skills
- Good client care skills
- Good ICT skills and the ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given

Desired qualifications
- The right candidate should have GCSEs at grades C/4 or above in English Language and maths or equivalent

- Following successful completion of the apprenticeship programme it is the intention of the Directors to employ the apprentice on a full time basis

Minimum wage:
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £4.30 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £6.56 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £8.36 for anyone aged 21-22 and £8.91 for anyone aged 23 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
