You will be working as a Civil Engineering Technician, developing the stills to providing technical support to consulting engineers who provide design services and advice to construction clients on projects all over the world. These projects could be in different sectors including: rail, bridge and civil structures.rail, bridge and building construction, marine, highways, power, commercial and industrial.

Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
Good communications, numeracy and IT skills are all important, as is the ability to work as part of a team while also having plenty of your own initiative.
Strong problem solving, attention to detail and a desire to come up with practical solutions will also stand you in good stead.
To be a civil engineering technician you should:

We ask that you must have a B/6 or above in GCSE maths in order to cope with the demands of training and work.
Future prospects
About the employer
Tony Gee provides civil and structural engineering consultancy services and has specialist expertise in geotechnical, rail, structures, highways and marine projects. The practice undertakes design commissions for public and private sector clients and contractors. Workload is divided between the design of permanent works and the development of temporary works and construction methodology together with design of any specialist equipment necessary to build the structure.
