This is a service engineering role and as the apprenticeship progresses the following will form part of the general duties:

  • Visiting client sites
  • Installation and commissioning of both machine tools and injection moulding machines
  • Customisation of machines to meet client specifications
  • Fault diagnosis and repair of mechanical, electrical and fluid power systems
  • Conducting preventative maintenance as part of a service schedule
  • Offer basis operator training to the clients as part of the installation and commissioning service
  • Potential to be on call once nearing the end of the apprenticeship
  • Be an ambassador of Romi Machines UK
  • Support the applications teams with external showcase events

Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • The first year of training is based at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC) based on Ansty Business Park Coventry.  It is the expectation that the applicants are able to attend the training centre for this first year and make their own way to and from
  • Year two will be mainly based at the Romi Machines UK Limited headquarters in Rugby and again it will be the responsibility of the apprentices to attend their place of work
  • As the apprenticeship progresses there will be a need for candidates to hold a valid UK driving license and visit external customer sites
