A typical day would include driving to the customer site and carrying out the necessary duties such as installing, commissioning, repairing and modifying equipment, in order to meet customer requirements. All work needs to be conducted in a professional manner as all employees are ambassadors or Arburg and are the face of the business.

All engineers you will be working with, are fully factory trained in Germany and can pass on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical/electronic skills in fault finding and repair.

By the end of the apprenticeship it is essential that the candidate to be skilled in the following areas

  • Electrical / Electronics
  • Fluid Power Systems (Hydraulics and Pneumatics)
  • Mechanical Systems

Personal qualities

We expect our apprentices to be willing to learn, be enthusiastic and have a problem solving attitude with confidence to put across their ideas.

Desired qualifications

Applicants need to have successfully completed  or be precicted to achieve GCSEs with a grade score 4 (C) or higher in at least 5 subjects which must include Maths, English and a STEM related subject or equivalent qualifications.

Future prospects

As part of the apprenticeship and when the apprentice enters year 2 of the programme, they will be issued with a company vehicle which is also available for private use.

Training in Germany would commence in year 3 or 4 with for typically 12/13 weeks duration.

Things to consider

You need to have a full driving license due to the nature of the role.

ARBURG are a leading manufacturer of plastic injection moulding machines, robots and now Additive Manufacturing.

The UK subsidiary serving both the UK and Republic of Ireland and based in Warwick currently employ 10 field service engineers.  The subsidiary acts as a sales, spares and service operation with a showroom for up to seven injection moulding machines.
