The duties will include:

  • Reception duties – greeting/helping and welcoming patients, booking/cancelling/re-arranging appointments, dealing with patient queries etc.
  • To ensure Patient information is passed onto staff in a timely manner.
  • Filing electronic letters using Docman IT system and recording any necessary read codes
  • Creating token letters for patients who have registered for online services and recording the required read code
  • File manual letters into patient records
  • IT has become central to the way General Practice work is managed eg electronic prescriptions, GP referrals, QOF- Quality and Outcomes Framework Teams meetings, etc Updating GDPR policies as required. The post holder will support Practice Manager, Doctor and staff with IT support as required. During time allocated
  • Working from QOF lists e.g. NHS Health checks, Cervical Cytology, Flu
  • Registering/de-registering patients
  • Work closely with all staff and ensure information is passed on in a timely way
  • Creating/sending invoices; keeping track of the status of different insurance reports
  • Create/update forms for the surgery e.g. registration forms, travel vaccination forms, repeat prescription slips, the surgery leaflet
  • Participate in in-house staff meetings and training
  • Handle incoming/outgoing post
  • Changing/updating patient information e.g. changes of name, change of address, update contact details
  • Word processing documents as and when required and review CQC policies
  • Undertake and complete mandatory training including BlueStream Academy modules, safeguarding training level 1 and 2, GDPR, infection control and any other training as and when required by Sutton Road Surgery or Directed by NHS
  • The post holder will always maintain patient confidentiality
  • This post is subject to reviews and annual appraisal
