Apprentice Gamekeeper Underkeeper Keith Richard Sterricker

Reporting to the owner you will be responsible for the daily care of pheasants, partridges and ducks. You will be involved in feeding, cleaning and watering of birds. Daily egg collecting through the laying season and the daily health and welfare checks of the birds. Some maintenance and cleaning is expectedPest and predator control.

Working on a busy game farm located in East Yorkshire the successful candidate will report owner and be involved the following tasks:

  • Producing chicks and poults for the shooting industry nationwide
  • Reporting to the owner 
  • Feeding of laying birds 
  • Collection of eggs 
  • Mucking rearing sheds 
  • Power washing housing 
  • Bitting pheasants 
  • Catching poults for delivery 
  • Involved with pest and predator control 
  • Regular health checks of the birds 
  • Working to high welfare standards 
  • Maintenance
