Barbering Apprentice Level 2 Rumours Hair
Rumours Hair & Beauty are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their team as an Apprentice Barber. You will work towards a Level 2 Barbering standard and learning whilst working in the salon.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
Total hours per week: 30.00

Level 2 (GCSE)
Duties will include:
- Answering the telephone
- Handling cash
- Safe hygiene practices
- Shampooing hair
- Providing refreshments
Over time you will build up to do:
- Scissor work
- Clipper work
- Skin fades
- Understanding creative cutting
- How to use the cut throat razor/wet shaves
- Understanding the use of products
Requirements and prospects
- Customer service skills
- Timekeeping skills
- Cash handling skills
- Good telephone manner
- Desire to work in the hair industry
- Fluent in speaking English
- Able to read and write in English
- Maths & English GCSE or equivalent D/3 qualification would be an advantage, but not essential, as training will be given
There will be a full-time job for the right applicant.
Things to consider
Applicants must have a realistic idea of what it is like to work as an apprentice in the barbering industry and must be willing to help out with the less glamorous tasks such as cleaning! Please be aware that when working as a barbering apprentice, part of your daily jobs will be to clean and tidy the salon.
There will be some long periods of being active.
Applicants also need to ensure that they are willing to work Saturdays and at least one late evening before applying for the position as this is a requirement when working in the barbering industry.
