The team is looking to recruit a production engineer apprentice who will help with the processes required for the all-under-one-roof recycling and manufacturing services. You will work alongside the production engineer and be involved in engineering operations which are key to the success of the company, allowing their business to grow.
These include sorting and identifying plastic, shredding and maintaining plastic stock, plastic injection, hand finishing and general workshop maintenance.
The role covers a wide range of common and job specific skills sets that can be transferred across the manufacturing engineering industry sectors during the course of your career.
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- Experience with one or more of the following would be beneficial: Plastic working, woodworking, metalworking, or knowledge of and comfort using power tools.

Relic Plastic started in 2018 with a goal to think differently about waste and teach others about valuing waste as a resource.
Relic Plastic was built on the open source platform created by Precious Plastic, which was setup in 2013 to provide people with the knowledge to create their own Plastic Recycling project. Precious Plastic has made all their work open source so that others around the world can build on the technology and processes to make the recycling system transparent.
