The role will include learning and developing practical skills in the preparation and service of food. Menus are extensive, offering traditional grills and fish, breakfast, light bites, Sunday lunches and desserts, along with bespoke menus for customer bookings, ranging from working lunches to full wedding breakfasts for up to 120 covers.
The successful candidate will need to be up for hard work, and show commitment to the small team, and in return, they will have a great opportunity to learn, and to become part of the successful Slater's venue. In addition, other duties will include:
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
- Assisting in the food preparation process
- Preparing vegetables, meats and fish
- Cooking and preparing elements of high quality dishes
- Assisting other Chefs
- Helping with deliveries and restocking
- Cleaning stations
- Set up and close down of work areas/sections
- Maintaining health and safety in the work area and maintaining food safety in all aspects of job role
- Maintaining workplace records
- Correct use of stock and equipment
