We have an immediate vacancy for an exceptional Apprentice Hairdresser, who has a passion for wanting to become a Hairdresser in Romford.

The Apprenticeship training programme will last 18 – 24 months and you will progress towards achieving The Diploma for Hair Professionals (Hairdressing) Level 2 Apprenticeship standard with the opportunity to advance to the Senior Hair Professional Standard (Hairdressing) Level 3 Apprenticeship. There will be an initial 12-week probationary period.

We do not require you to have prior experience or GCSEs, or equivalents, - we need your passion to want to succeed in this vibrant creative industry. You need to be well presented, have a fantastic attitude and be reliable team player.

As an Apprentice Hairdresser you will be required to: 

  • Meet and greet customers
  • Shampoo and conditioner customers’ hair
  • Maintain a clean salon
  • Provide refreshments to the customers
  • Reception duties
  • Prepare customers for the stylists to cut, tint hair etc.
  • As you develop skills you may be given the opportunity to style hair, apply tint and colour

Your training will require you to demonstrate a competence in shampooing and conditioning, cutting hair, tinting hair, styling hair, setting and dressing hair plus reception duties. Your skills and competence will be assessed on paying customers, either in our academy or in the workplace (salon).

As an Apprentice you learn on the job and you are an employee. As an employee, you are entitled to a wage. As an Apprentice you are entitled to the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices.

Falltricks Hairdressing and Academy have been Romford's leading hairdressing salon and training academy for the past 20 years. The salon has won many industry awards and The Academy is a Grade 2 Ofsted Provider. The business is situated on the outer side of the Liberty Shopping Centre in Western Road, Romford.

The Academy trains apprentices in hairdressing, barbering and customer service not only from their own salon, but also for many salons across Essex and London.
