Main duties will include:

  • Your job would fall into one of two areas – preventative (servicing) maintenance and emergency maintenance (breakdowns)

In preventative maintenance, your duties would include:

  • Making scheduled checks on machinery and parts
  • Finding and fixing faults, and recalibrating instruments
  • Oiling and cleaning machinery and parts
  • Carrying out scheduled overhaul and replacing parts that have reached the end of their working life

Emergency maintenance tasks would include:

  • Responding immediately to machinery breakdowns
  • Fixing faults on site or arranging for replacement equipment to be installed

You will mainly be placed in the company’s workshops but potentially, given the nature of the business, some site work may be required.

Applications for this apprenticeship are being processed by Reaseheath College

Level 3 Land-Based Service Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard, Construction Plant Route which includes:

  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths & English
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)

Reaseheath Training will be the apprenticeship provider for this apprenticeship. The employer will give guidance and support throughout the standard of your apprenticeship.

Off-the-job training must make up at least 20% of the apprentice’s contracted hours, over the total duration of the apprentice’s planned training period. Reaseheath Training also offer optional extra industry qualifications at additional cost.
