Electronics Assembly Apprentice Arrow Technical Services Ltd
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic people to join our team to help further develop our company. Following an initial trial period with the scope of enrolment onto the apprenticeship, onsite training will be provided to develop hand soldering and other basic manufacturing techniques and operations to carry out day to day tasks.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Level 2 (GCSE)
On-site training will be provided for an initial role, where the following tasks will be carried out:-
- Hand Soldering of Electronic Components, Cables Assemblies etc to manufactured Printed Circuit Board Assemblies
- Quality Assurance and Inspection of manufactured goods to IPC Standards
- Product Handling and Storage adhering to ESD Control
- Record Keeping
- Engineering diagram reading/creation
- Ensuring work areas are maintained and tidied
- Stock control/handling
Once a basic understanding and level of competence is achieved, there will be development to run our SMT line where you will be responsible for running a Pick and Place Machine, Screen Printer and Reflow oven, whilst being responsible for ensuring products manufactured meet relevant standards, mainly IPC.
Further training will be provided to meet a flexible range of work based on the skill level and personal interest of the successful applicants. The overall goal will be to develop skilled team members who are able to branch into more advanced careers and develop the company at the same time.
The ‘trial period’ is fully paid and is a 3-month period in which successful candidates will be monitored in their work application, ability and fit with the team. It also allows candidates to decide if the career path and our company are right for them, before committing to the apprenticeship training.
Requirements and prospects
- Basic IT usage
- Able to follow and understand written instructions/manuals as well as verbal instructions
- Enthusiasm to learn and input ideas
- Attention to detail to achieve a high standard of work
- Methodical in approach to work
English and Maths GCSE’s (at Grade 4 or C) or equivalent preferred but not essential
Potential for further training in Manufacturing/Technician roles or Electronic Design.Potential to branch into other departments depending on skills and interests.
Things to consider
Chances of attending a customer’s site to carry out repairs/modifications. Potential to be working with Main’s voltages whilst testing.
Overtime may be required but notice will be given if needed and will be flexible to staff needs where able.
Holidays start at 20 days +Bank Holidays with the scope of increasing with service
After 1 year of employment employees will be enrolled onto the company bonus scheme.
Salary is reviewed upon completion of apprenticeship but may be done sooner depending on performance and roles that may be taken on.
Additional wages to be considered for commuting/ travel for training.

Arrow Technical are an Electronics Design & Manufacturer based on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham.
We are a small company; currently only 6 staff, looking to expand and bring in some new team members to contribute fresh ideas and be involved in our expansion.
