Orion Optics are a telescope manufacturer, the only one in the country to manufacturer telescopes, we are known all over the world for our precise optics, we supply our telescopes to most universities both in the UK and all over the world, and we have 3 telescope in space at this time. We were on the TV programme Made in Britain, a few weeks ago, showing how we start and finish our telescope to the highest standard as required by our customers.
A growing reputation of our products is testimony of their success and quality. Across the length and breadth of the country, telescopes and optical components can be found in universities and private businesses. Custom made telescopes are helping with cutting edge astronomy projects in ESO’s sites in Chile and La Palma and Amatuer Astroimagers are for ever pushing the boundaries and producing some breath-taking views of the universe.
We are seeking to employ and train an assembly technician apprentice.
You will be highly trained to work in the world of manufacturing. The initial training will be broad based and could lead to a first appointment as a mechanical assembly technician
Mechanical assembly technician of world class telescopes will be involved in:
- Learning all about the telescope product lines
- Assembling and calibrating all our telescopes to the highest standards
- Getting them ready to be despatched. These highly calibrated products are very specifically packed as there is some very delicate glass items to be protected.
- Booking all our products in with the couriers ready to be collected
- Despatch to our customers
