Responsibilities will include:

  • To promote and provide exceptional standards of quality within the nursery including the environment and resources for the children and the experiences that are offered to the children   
  • To support the development of quality practice with regard to Special Needs and Inclusion
  • To work with the Early Years Improvement Team to continuously improve the quality of the education and childcare
  • To ensure that the children are kept safe and that all staff understand, and when necessary, follow the nursery’s safeguarding procedures
  • To adhere to all policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety and ensure that any risk is managed and that any remedial action is taken immediately
  • To report any accidents or incidents to the Nursery Director or person in charge
  • To support and supervise room staff with their day to day duties and work as part of a team
  • To offer support and mentor staff and students and be a good role model to both other staff and the children
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
  • Always maintain a high standard of appearance
  • To develop and promote parental partnership and involvement
  • To develop positive relationships with staff and other agencies working with the nursery
  • To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Deputy Manager or Nursery Manager

About the employer

Daffodils are a private family business established in 1995 by Sibtain and Shabnam Raza who has over 30 years of childcare experience.

Shabnam completed her N.N.E.B in childcare in 1985 whilst working as a practitioner in an established nursery in Streatham. She then went on to work as a manager before starting Daffodils in 1995. Daffodils started as a 10 place day nursery on Norbury Crescent before it was extended to its current size.​

As the Daffodils team developed, we expanded and acquired a day nursery on Norbury Avenue in 2009. This branch then underwent a largescale refurbishment in 2013 following the establishment of a third branch in Streatham Vale.

In 2018, Daffodils acquired an independent school in Thornton Heath and following refurbishment the fourth nursery opened for children in January 2019.

​Throughout these years, Shabnam and the team’s vision remains the same – to encourage children to develop to their full potential through providing a safe, clean and stimulating learning environment.​

Caring for children is a great responsibility which we take seriously and as such we are always open to parents valuable input, we believe a close bond between Daffodils and parents who are the main carers enables the child to progress and reach their full potential.
