This Apprenticeship will commence from September 2022, however you may be able to join the organisation as a Bank Staff employee prior to this to gain skills and experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children in play and learning activities
- Everyday care routines such as meal and sleep times
- Enhancing the environment with creative and exciting ideas
- Observing and record keeping of children’s development and planning to meet their individual needs supported by establishing positive relationships with parents and carers
- You will need to support the managers and team in the day to day running of the room including keeping children safe and following the early years foundation stage statutory framework
Day release at College is required, where you will be supported by our assessors to complete your coursework and work towards your Level 3 qualification.
GCSE Maths and English required at 4 or above.

- The ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Good observation and organisational skills
- A willingness to learn new skills and ability to identify when they need support
- A reasonable level of IT skills would be an advantage

- Patience and the ability to remain calm at all times

- A willingness to reflect on own practice

- Demonstrate an awareness of confidentiality requirements and basic understanding of safeguarding children
- You will need to be self-motivated, have the ability to plan your time and be organised. All these skills are needed to complete your qualification whilst learning on the job
Desired qualifications
- A-C or grade 4 or above in English and Maths GCSEs or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this
- Previous experience in a childcare environment would be beneficial
Future prospects
We have an extremely high succession rate within our apprenticeship program and staff who have progressed onto management level.
