Role to include:
- To ensure that the children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment and to follow the principles of the nursery policies and standards
- To maintain a high standard of hygiene and encourage the children to do the same
- To be consistent and conduct themselves in a professional manner
- To co-operate and communicate with all staff on nursery matters
- To participate in any in-house training
- To attend and contribute to staff meeting
- To pass on any relevant information to other staff members
- To carry out domestic duties within the setting as and when required

You will be working towards the following qualification/standard:
Early Years Practitioner – Level 2
This includes:
- Main learning objectives: Supporting child development, safeguarding, protection and welfare, health and safety of babies and young children, responsibilities of the early years practitioner, planning and delivering activities and purposeful play, partnership working.
- Functional Skills – if required.
- EPA (End Point Assessment) – Towards the final few months of the apprenticeship you will complete your End Point Assessment. This includes a professional discussion underpinned by portfolio. A knowledge test. All assessment methods will be conducted and graded by an independent EPAO.
This Apprenticeship is completed within the workplace. You will be assessed through written work, verbal discussion and observation throughout your training. You will be given time by your employer to complete portfolio work, attend training, workplace shadowing and any other opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge.
