K Hill & Partners are looking for apprentices to work within their soft landscaping, planting and grounds maintenance teams. You will be involved in various aspects of Horticulture and gain an industry recognised qualification.

Level 2 (GCSE)
Commercial landscaping, grassland maintenance, tree surgery and woodland management. We have ongoing contracts with national organisations and regularly work for councils, property developers, landscape architects and estate managers.
Work location and type varies day to day, providing a wide range of opportunities. Our services include:
- Woodland / forestry maintenance
- Forestry management
- Highway maintenance
- Site clearance
- Tree surgery
- Grassland maintenance
- Hard and soft landscaping
- Noxious weed control
- Tree and shrub planting
- Wildflower seeding and cutting
Requirements and prospects
- Experience of physical work, physically fit and strong
- Careful and considerate when using tools and equipment
- Awareness of the importance of health and safety
- Willingness to learn
- Passion for the industry and the outdoors in general

- Have physical strength
- Have a sense of humour
GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English.
Future prospects include working on soft landscaping projects, residential and commercial planting schemes as well as grounds maintenance contracts.
Support available for additional machinery operation tickets and/or training to Level 3.
Things to consider
You will be working on different sites around Cornwall and West Devon.
No public transport available to the main yard. The successful candidate will need to be dropped to/collected from pick up points if own transport is not held.
Please note you will be working outdoors in all weathers.
Hourly wage is £5ph. This may be negotiable.
Immediate start available for employment at minimum wage. This will convert to an apprenticeship in April.

- Strimming for vegetation clearance
- Wood chipping, hedge trimming and laying

You will be working towards a Level 2 Horticulture Apprenticeship Standard.
You will receive on and off the job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor.
You will be required to attend Duchy College Rosewarne on a regular basis as part of the apprenticeship training.
