This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Halifax-based IT Support Company. You will work alongside the IT Manager to assist with the day-to-day running of the IT systems. This will be mostly internal, but will potentially lead to fieldwork for our clients.

Primary responsibilities: 

  • Delivering first line support to staff, responding to incidents, diagnosing faults and troubleshooting software issues
  • Setup of new users e.g. PC configuration, software installation, licensing, etc.
  • Maintaining an IT inventory of hardware and software throughout the company
  • You may be required to visit our branch offices from time to time so a driving licence would be advantageous
  • Printer maintenance e.g. swapping toner/waste cartridges
  • Be available by phone, email, etc. during working hours
  • Setup new equipment (e.g. PC's, laptops, printers, projectors, and others)

Desired qualifications

Entry requirements:

You need to have 5 GCSEs:

  • Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades D/3 or above
  • 3x GCSEs grade A-C/8-4 (or equivalent) in any other subject

You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level or higher level than this apprenticeship.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Future prospects

The right candidate will have the opportunity to continue in a more advanced support role, with the possibility to specialise in technical support, help desk support or customer on-boarding.

There could also be opportunities for other roles in the organisation.

Approximately 11% of training takes place in the QA learning centre classroom. 9% is done in the workplace, through online training, face-to-face meetings with your QA Technical Skills Coach or developing your portfolio. The remaining time will be spent on your workplace activity.
