Playdays Nursery in South Woodford have a vacancy for a keen Childcare Apprentice to join their small and friendly team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is ready to move to their Level 3 qualification. Playdays Nursery value their staff and this apprenticeship will allow movement throughout the nursery. You would start with the 2-5 year olds and move into the 0-2 year olds when ready. This can give you a great insight if you are starting out or the ability to develop and enhance your skills, knowledge and understanding if you are moving on to the next level.
Main Tasks
- Cleaning and maintaining the learning environment
- To complete your childcare qualification alongside your role with the nursery
- To assist setting the rooms for activities and age appropriate play
- To ensure that all records are kept up to date and are accurate
- Handing over the children to their parents/carers at the end of the day
- To work within the nursery policies and procedures – assistance will be given
- Assisting all children at mealtimes, sleep/rest periods
- Preparing Activities and learning experiences for children

Apprentices must successfully complete a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. Please refer to the DfE list of approved EYE qualifications:

Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking their end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirements are Entry Level 3, and the British Sign Language qualification is an alternative to English qualifications for apprentices for whom this is their primary language.
Apprentices must successfully complete the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid. (RQF) or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) Or complete a first aid course delivered by one of the following types of organisations as per the EYFS requirements. Voluntary aid society, member of trade body with an approval and monitoring system, or acknowledged by the Health and Safety Executive
