As a Care Assistant, you will assist people in their homes, building a personal relationship and providing highest standards of care. You must be able to handle working on the front-line and have your own transport.

Duties will include:

  • Travel to and attend clients’ own homes as scheduled and provide continuity of care for each client visited
  • Establish relationships with clients and their families that take regard of clients’ social needs, avoid stress, reduce loneliness, improve quality of life, and promote independence whenever possible
  • Be aware of each of the clients Care Plans, carrying out all of the relevant duties outlined
  • Provide personal care for the client including tasks such as personal hygiene, continence management, dressing and general mobility
  • Support in domestic assistance such as: laundry, bed making, cleaning, shopping, etc.
  • Assist with the preparation and cooking of meals in the client’s home and monitor eating habits and food consumption
  • Assist with medication under the guidance of the Supervisor, Senior Care worker, or other qualified person, and / or following suitable training
  • Preserve clients’ dignity, rights, confidentiality and security of their property at all times
  • Maintain all records in relation to each client in an accurate and timely manner
  • Other related duties as required from time-to-time by the Supervisor

Requirements and prospects

  • The ability to work alone and as a member of a team
  • Demonstrate an ability to relate professionally and respectively to people with learning disabilities
  • Comply with company policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety, and Quality Assurance
  • Excellent communication, presentation and timekeeping skills

 

Personal qualities

  • Friendly, observant and sensitive with a caring nature and approach
  • An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the needs for strict confidentiality

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE Grades 4-9 ( A*- C) Must include maths and English

Future prospects

  • Carer progression into more senior roles e.g. care coordinator, senior carer, assessors etc. 

Things to consider

  • Over 18 required due to the nature of the work
  • Must be a driver and have access to their own vehicle to travel to clients’ homes
  • All applicants need to be double vaccinated against COVID-19 which is now a legal requirement. We would need to see proof of vaccination status for anyone prior to being able to offer them the job.
  • Wage confirmation £9.90 ph Weekdays - £10.40ph weekend work
