Main responsibilities;
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
- Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request
- Appropriately signpost patients to the correct service
- File and store records as required
- Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
- Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary
- Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient’s healthcare record Manage all queries (including administrative queries) as necessary in an efficient manner
Reception duties:
- Booking in patients consulting with members of Practice team
- Directing patients to appropriate locations
- Supervise waiting area and monitor activities
- Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary
- Initiate new patient registration forms
- Have knowledge of practice boundaries for registration
- Accept specimens and ensure they are correctly labelled
- Receipting monies for private medical fees and securing in safe box
Repeat Prescriptions
- Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patients and checking names and address
- Ensure prescriptions are directed to appropriate pharmacies as requested by the patient
Appointments
- Process a variety of appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person
- Deal with home visit requests
