This apprenticeship will give the successful candidate the chance to bring fresh ideas to the table, whilst also learning from the knowledge and experience of their peers. 

An apprenticeship isn’t purely about gaining a qualification. The aim of our apprenticeship program is to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to enable them to thrive and succeed in the modern workplace. 

Principle Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Infrastructure and Security function by monitoring the Microsoft Azure estate and responding to any security recommendations
  • Work with the ICT Security Officer to raise awareness around cyber-attacks and engage the entire business in e-learning campaigns
  • Attend specification meetings alongside Data Services team and offer support in the building and rollout of Power BI dashboards
  • Assist Innovation and Architecture team with checking sensors and other connected devices at customer properties
  • Support the Applications team in implementing new integrations and automatons to improve the efficiency of our systems
  • Work closely with Service Desk function to identify potential service enhancements and implement Continual Service Improvement (CSI)
  • Assist Business Improvement team with administration and auditing of core housing systems
  • Contribute to projects undertaken by the entire Digital, Technology and Data directorate

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Demonstrable customer service experience gained through paid work or work experience 
  • A passion for new technologies, with an eye on future developments and the ability to articulate well at all levels 
  • Confident communicator both written and verbally 
  • Experience of using Office 365 tools, such as Word, Excel and Teams 

Personal qualities

  • It would be beneficial to have 2/3 years working experience in IT Environment 
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies such as Microsoft Azure 

Desired qualifications

Entry requirements: 

A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area in any grade. Acceptable qualifications include:

  • A-levels in one or more similar subject
  • Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
  • International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in a similar subject
  • BTEC Extended Diploma in a similar subject
  • A Work experience route (2-3 years) in a similar subject-related role 

Note: “Similar subject” relates to areas directly relevant to or commensurate with “Digital and Technology Solutions” 

As to what constitutes a ‘similar subject’ this would therefore typically be areas such as but not limited to Level 3 digital apprenticeships, A-Level/BTEC Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Software Engineering, etc.

Note: Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

  • Approximately 11% of training takes place in the QA learning centre classroom. 9% is done in the workplace, through online training, face-to-face meetings with your QA Technical Skills Coach, or developing your portfolio. The remaining time will be spent on your workplace activity
