Level 2 (GCSE)
Our new apprentice will be responsible for the day to day care of individual and groups of children.
You will undertake all aspects of childcare including:
- Personal care needs
- Planning activities to support children’s education
- Cleaning and preparing play and eating areas
- Developing staff and parent relationships
You will need to work well individually and be able to follow instructions as well as use your own initiative.
You will need to be capable of learning on the job and showing that you have learnt tasks by carrying them out independently, when trained.This role may be closed early if a sufficient number of applications are received.
Requirements and prospects
You will have the skills to establish positive relationships with children, parents / carers and other staff members and to provide a nurturing environment. Good communication skills and a good level of initiative will be needed.
We need you to be reliable, flexible and have a positive, friendly attitude.
English and maths GCSE A-C/9-4 or equivalent
Progression to Early Years Educator apprenticeship.

Kaleidoscope Nursery is an established childcare provision in the heart of Sherborne, accepting children from birth to 5 years of age. The Nursery was founded in 2005 and relocated in September 2010 to a purpose-designed building in a quiet area within the new Sherborne Business Centre.
