Specific training will be given in Finance, Sales, Commercial and Production admin with the opportunity to spend time and gain knowledge in all areas of our growing engineering business.

With training and supervision, you will be expected to: 

  • Support Financial Controller – processing purchase ledger invoices, ensuring sales ledger payments are received in a timely manner
  • Support Sales Administrator – effective communication with internal suppliers to ensure accurate information is communicated to customers
  • Processing sales orders
  • Support Buyer – communicate with external suppliers to ensure accurate information is available to internal customers
  • Management of electronic company notice board – to keep company news, KPI measures, safety reminders and motivation quotes updated
  • Provide holiday cover for production planner, to include works order generation
  • Carry out reception duties as part of the ‘front of house’ team

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the office as a tidy, well organised and efficient working space 
  • Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met
  • Contribute to communication that promotes two-way discussion/ideas
  • Enable and encourage colleagues to do their jobs to their best ability

Desired qualifications

Maths and English at GCSE, or equivalents, level C/4 or above.

Sciences or Design not essential but may help with understanding of materials and processes used in the business.

Future prospects

Long term employment, together with opportunities to specialise, may be available on completion of a successful apprenticeship.

  • Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard

In addition to 20% of the working week being given to off-the-job training provided by the employer and the training provider, there will be mandatory monthly workshops linked to the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the standard, additional business and ICT training; all delivered, in the first instance, virtually.

1:1 monthly appointment with Assessor Tutor.

Regular catch up meetings between 1:1 monthly appointment.
