Job Description of the role:

  • Assist in the duties associated with the getting in, fitting up, running in and getting out of productions/events taking place in the theatre spaces
  • Assist with event management and operation
  • Under direction of the Technical Manager operate & set-up lighting equipment, sound equipment
  • Assist in the maintenance of technical equipment within the theatres as required
  • Assist in ensuring that all areas of the building are kept in a clean, tidy, and safe condition
  • Identify and undertake training and development as required, in order to meet personal and business needs
  • Adhere to all H&S requirements to ensure employees, visitors and performers are safe
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties to ensure the smooth running of the theatre Assist in any department-relevant administrative work required

You will need to be:

  • Able to use IT equipment and systems
  • A confident communicator
  • Be willing to work evenings and weekends
  • Complete all course work and attend college sessions
  • Knowledge of the theatre industry (preferred)
  • Have an understanding of technical lighting systems (preferred)
  • Have an understanding of sound systems (preferred)
  • Have an understanding of H&S requirements within the theatre industry (preferred)

Desired qualifications

You will need to have GCSE’s in the 4 to 9 (A* to C) range or equivalent for English and maths. The successful candidate will also need to complete an initial assessment, which will help us plan the appropriate support required to meet your individual needs.
