The role is an opportunity for someone who loves cows to come in, learn and receive training and grow, progressing their career within the industry. You will be part of a larger team who have plenty of support and knowledge to draw on to develop your skill base.
Primarily you will be supporting the herdsperson maintaining our high standards of production and animal wellbeing. You will do this by sharing the milking responsibilities, as well as other tasks such as:
- calving
- heat detection
- milk recording
- rearing youngstock
- dehorning
- yard work.
We believe in a good work/life balance and there is regular days and time off with the role.

For the right candidate with a passion for agriculture, there is a possibility to become a permanent assistant herdsperson within the company.
Things to consider
Due to the rural location of the workplace, own transport is preferred.
About the employer
Multiple award-winning Family Farm for both farming practice and conservation. The farm runs a high health predominantly spring calving 260 cow pedigree Jersey herd on a premium contract and is on a premium contract. It also has a Pedigree Ruby Red Herd.

You will be required to attend Duchy College, Stoke Climsland on a weekly basis as part of the apprenticeship training.
