What you will learn:

  • How to plan and execute effective paid-for marketing campaigns including Google display ads, Google Shopping and pay per click ads
  • How to launch and run email newsletter strategies
  • How to track, measure and report on campaign results


  • Set up and optimise PPC search campaigns
  • Ensure that PPC search campaigns are monitored daily and meet relevant targets
  • Create display ads
  • Create Ads for search and display networks
  • Advertising and promotion through social media platforms

  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Personal qualities

  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardised situations
  • Social Media - The individual will be engaged with social media and have the intuition to create a successful post and to spark online conversation. The individual will have an understanding of the influence of social media and the web in modern day business

Desired qualifications

  • Must have good IT and Digital skills
  • Must have driving licence and access to a vehicle (semi-rural location means not readily accessible by public transport)

Functional Skills:

English and maths Level 2 - if GCSE Grade C or above, (level 4-9) has not already been achieved or:

  • At least 5 x GCSEs (A*- C), or equivalent, including Maths and English (Grades 4-9) are essential
  • Must have good IT and Digital skills

Ongoing employment for the right candidate if circumstances allow. (Most of our apprentices work hard, achieve their apprenticeship qualification, develop sought after skills and are then employed on an ongoing basis after their apprenticeship).

Apprentices will receive a mixture of on and off the job training in addition to monthly sessions with a Training Coach. Training will be provided at our Training Centre in Brighton and our Training Coaches will offer support and guidance in the workplace where apprentices will gain on-the job experience to build the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to begin their career in Digital Marketing.

​The Apprenticeship includes:

  • BCS Certificate in Marketing Principles
  • BCS Certificate in Principles of Coding
  • Google Analytics IQ


Apprentices will be required to build a portfolio of evidence of workplace activities to demonstrate that they have achieved the required level of skills and knowledge for the qualification programme.
