Dorchester Podiatry is in the heart of Dorchester. The clinic can provide all of your foot health needs, including routine podiatry treatments, nail surgery, shockwave therapy, verrucae treatments, diabetic foot care and assessments, and specialist insoles. Also within the practice is a reflexologist supports general wellbeing. 

The practice is currently recruiting two Customer Service Apprentices who will be the first point of contact for clients. Due to growth, the practice is moving to bigger premises in December 2021 and is looking to expand their client offering in the future. The practice is looking for two outgoing, positive apprentices who are willing to learn, keen to help expand the business and have outstanding timekeeping.

The main duties will include: 

  • Answering telephone calls,
  • Booking of appointments via both online and telephone enquiries,
  • Taking payments, stock control and dealing with any online/social media presence.

The ideal candidate will also have to be willing to help cover extra hours, such as holiday or sickness.

On completion of the apprenticeship, there are prospects of progression to a higher level apprenticeship qualification, along with a permanent position for the right candidate. This opportunity would suit somebody who is looking to progress their career long term to a Practice Manager and has the ambition to do so.

Future prospects

Prospect of progression to a higher level apprenticeship qualification and permanent position for the right on completion of the Apprenticeship. There is also scope for progression to a Practice Manager in the long term. 

Things to consider

From 1st April 2021, the National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £4.30 per hour.  This rises annually as set by government. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of an Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
