Duties will include:
- To undertake a developmental programme leading to the qualification
- To actively participate in your own development plan working through the qualification with the qualification provider and with the pre-school setting too
- To undertake induction training in the pre-school with a named mentor
- To keep your mentor informed of your progress and to raise any concerns or issues with them
- To support the pre-school staff to observe, plan and maintain accurate children’s records
- To develop a sound understanding of Safeguarding Policies
- Undertake a shared responsibility for the care of children, health, safety, personal care routines and cleanliness throughout the nursery

Desired qualifications
- We require one of either English or maths to be passed at GCSE grade (or equivalent)
- If only one GCSE English or maths is at a grade 4/C or above the other subject can be worked on as part of the apprenticeship, carrying out Functional Skills to level 1 and working towards level 2

- We are working towards Forest School Association Accreditation so we spend a lot of our time outdoors whatever the weather
- Due to the location of the employer, a travel and parking allowance can be supplied by the employer

Set in the village of Hawkshead, in the heart of the Lake District, Cumbria, Hawkshead Community Pre-School CIC is a Community Interest Company Pre-School providing pre-school provision and wrap around care children aged 2-11 years old. We are an independent pre-school sharing a site with Hawkshead Primary School. We pride ourselves in our strong links and transition process.

Early Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:
- Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
- End-Point Assessment (EPA)
- Attend college one evening per week, currently a Wednesday evening 4.30-7.30pm, this forms part of the learners off the job training
- Training at college will support completion of the level 2 Early Years Practitioner Standard
- Training to be conducted in the setting at the managers request and may include, first aid, safeguarding, food safety manual handling etc. In-house training, shadowing senior staff members and attending staff meetings also forms part of your training
