About the employer
Tamburino’s first restaurant was opened in Yeovil on the 27th February 2005 bringing the town a true taste of Italy with our wonderful traditional cuisine and vibrant atmosphere.
Owner Domenico Taravella is from Sicily, where passion runs deep. No more so than the passion for food and hospitality. In fact, Domenico began his restaurant career at the tender age of 14 – not surprising, because as he says, “Food and drink are part of the culture of my country. We embrace them at a very young age!”
In 2009 Tamburino was nominated at the PAPA (Pizza, Pasta and Italian food Association) Awards as best independent Italian restaurant in the U.K. for the effort Tamburino’s put on, producing a real Italian atmosphere and authentic Italian food, the whole Italian package. Tamburino won the platinum award after being judged by mystery diners beating restaurants from London, Glasgow and all over the U.K. This success was recreated in 2014 and 2019 when they won the same award, showing our top-notch food and dining experience once again.
