XCommNet Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic person who will be able to help and support the company's expanding customer base. This role is a diverse role which would suit a candidate that would like to get involved in all aspects of the setup and delivery cycle.
- Configure bonding and load balancing network equipment
- Ensure backups are maintained of all production and pre-production equipment
- Trouble shoot basic connectivity issues
- Provide 1st line telephone support
- Install equipment at customer sites
- Provide onsite support
- Communication with customers and potential clients
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- Basic understanding of computer networking fundamentals such as: IP addresses, Clients and servers’ architecture, Network hubs, switches and cables, Routers and firewalls
- Personal interest in information technologies
- Good numerical and literacy skills and good levels of computer literacy
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
- Good analytical/problem solving skills
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with good relationship building skills
Personal qualities
- Self-motivated and keen to develop, with a willingness and desire to learn
- To possess initiative with an inquisitive nature, unafraid to ask appropriate questions
- A full UK driving license would be advantageous as you may need to commute to clients

- GCSE maths and English at grades A*-C/4-9 or level 2 equivalent

Things to consider
Please note that the salary is dependant on experience. You will need to travel down to our PETA training centre in Portsmouth, Hampshire to do your off-job training as part of the apprenticeship.
