We believe that it is experiences that help shape children, making them more confident, outgoing and positive when facing the future. PE and Sport are a vital part of our Trust’s vision going forward and we are looking for someone to help us to bring that vision to life as part of our Sports and Adventure Academy.

You will be developing the health and well-being of pupils by working alongside a sports coach. You will also work with a Sports coach to develop teachers’ capacity to deliver a high quality sports curriculum independently and with midday supervisors and teaching assistants to organise activities at lunch and break times.

Duties to include, but not limited to:

  • Supporting pupils in the learning environment, specifically in a sports coaching capacity
  • Assisting with setting up and running team activities relevant to the subject including sports fixtures
  • Providing clerical and other support to service users to meet delivery requirements
  • Preparing and maintaining the teaching environment and resource
  • Developing the team by participating in meetings and development activities
  • Building professional relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues
  • Reviewing pupils’ performance
  • Other duties which may arise from time to time as agreed with the sports coaches or director of education

Things to consider

  • Apprentice minimum wage, 30 hours per week for 39 weeks/year plus 5.6 weeks paid holiday
