Duties will include:

  • To learn and develop the practical skills of an Installation Engineer
  • Observe and adhere to all health and safety codes and practices and complete apprenticeship assignments
  • To assist in surveys and carrying out installation of Arjo equipment into long term and acute healthcare facilities in the UK

Applicant 1: In and around M25, work will mainly be London / out skirts of London based. But could be required to travel further East, or maybe along M4 Corridor towards Reading.

Applicant 2: Sheffield / Manchester, work will mainly be between Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds & Liverpool. Possibly slightly further north towards York and Hull, again depending on orders.


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Knowledge of building and construction materials is beneficial 
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to move safely in confined spaces  
  • The ability to work safely at heights
  • The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying equipment up to 20 kg
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
  • The ability to operate plant machinery eg. drilling and cutting materials
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day
  • IT literate and working experience of MS Office & IOS packages

Personal qualities

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written 
  • Full valid UK driving licence
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Okay with regular travel will be required throughout region 
  • Okay with occasional overnight stays away as required

Desired qualifications

  • A minimum of five GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade 5 or above including English, Science and mathematics
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written 
  • Full valid UK driving licence (Field based position)
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Okay with regular travel will be required throughout region 
  • Okay with occasional overnight stays away as required

Future prospects

  • The role would naturally move the candidate towards a full-time installations engineer. However with the knowledge gained, a potential step could be towards our project design team

Things to consider

  • The role will have varied start and finish times, it is very much dictated by where and what the installation job is. Some installs can take a day, some take weeks to complete. Installs are however planned with realistic time scales, and travel time is taken into consideration
