An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as an Apprentice Warehouse Assistant to work assisting the team based in Waltham Abbey to provide excellent customer service alongside stock management, purchasing, administration and co-ordination of sales and logistics support to ensure a high standard of overall customer experience. 

Work activities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Assist with sourcing new vendors & products
  • Communication with vendors & price negotiation
  • To support the logistics department with the management and process of export and import shipments liaising with freight forwarders as required
  • To provide a high standard of customer service and sales support to our national and international customers via telephone, email and marketplace platforms
  • To provide accurate information to customers on products, orders and shipment status
  • To build good relationship with customers and understands their needs
  • To support the arrangement of stock, liaising with suppliers where necessary
  • To create accurate documentation for sales order, logistics and other administration tasks
  • Use continuous improvement techniques to improve performance in the supply chain, such as forecast accuracy
  • Learning and training to work with hazardous liquids
  • Receiving deliveries
  • Off-loading large containers and incoming deliveries
  • Picking/packing orders
  • Loading goods for dispatch
  • Accompanying driver on some deliveries (when appropriate)
  • Maintaining stock records and documentation
  • Maintaining safe and tidy warehouse environment
  • Using a range of equipment, machinery and vehicles whilst adhering to health and safety regulations 
  • Adhering to necessary policies, practices, and procedures at all times
  • Carrying out any other ad hoc duties as instructed by line management

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Excellent computer skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft office particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workload with good time management skills
