Responsibilities will include:
- Set up, run and maintain a Man Roland multi-unit printing press at the appropriate speed in line with company health & safety and quality standards; this will include cleaning and light maintenance
- Deal with a wide range of different printing operations such as managing colour, handling inks/toners, cleaning and maintenance
- Run printing press optimally; identify and solve problems to keep the machine in good working order and to ensure that jobs are produced on-time, in-full and without waste
- Use visual and computer aids so that colour and product specifications are within the expected tolerances before running the job
- Make sure that the press is ready for the next job or shift. Work to tight deadlines in a calm and professional manner. Able to maintain disciplines and focus under pressure in line with company and customer expectations
- Ensure that customer specification and company quality standards are met e.g., colour matching, print resolution, product consistency etc.

Level 3 Print Technician apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Functional Skills in English, and maths (if required)
- Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
Mode of delivery:
Delivered in the workplace with 1 day a month attendance required in college. Programme to begin in January.
We will support and coach the apprentice through the apprenticeship standard. We will carry out both curriculum and pastoral care. We will carry out the skills development workshop days off site – once a month in college.
The assessors will oversee the teaching and learning around the knowledge, behaviours and skills elements of the standard that supports the job role. We will manage the apprentice’s OneFile account ensuring targets, milestones and deadlines are achieved.
