The person appointed to the post will be expected to oversee part time bank staff, coaches, activators, and volunteers who support the colleges sport development plan alongside the Rugby Development Manager. The post holder will also have an objective to grow and develop Rugby across all BTC sites via links to clubs, schools, and other key agencies. They will also be key in growing links locally, regionally, and nationally with key external agencies including AoC Sport, Somerset Activity Sports Partnership, local schools alongside community organisations, semi-professional and professional sports clubs. Coaching • To lead in the planning, preparation, and delivery of the colleges Women’s rugby programme. • To manage, support and coach across a wide range of activates across the college • To ensure that there is high quality coaching to all learners engaged within Rugby and at times other sports by supporting the wider department. • To Support Student Athlete with academics, through support sessions, 1 to 1s or small group work. • To oversee Activators and act as a mentor for other apprentices. • To support the completion of administration duties associated to the role such as data collection, registers etc. • To complete regular appropriate media and marketing duties including reports and player case studies and events Sports Development • To support the design, implementation and delivery of Bridgwater & Taunton colleges sports strategy. • Support the development of recreational activity at the college. • To support the Sports Development team in the organisation, delivery and promotion of other sporting opportunities, development days and other events such as charity and fundraising. • Implement and co-ordinate Team BTC Development days and Development Pathways to drive and support recruitment at the College for both FE and HE Sport. • To support the growth and development of college partnerships. • To work with the Sports Development Team to act as a College representative for local, regional and national networks including AoC Sport, SASP and other organisations/networks. • Support the Sports Development Team in developing excellent partnerships within schools across the South-West, identifying and supporting the development of talented sports performers, providing a clear pathway for them to study at Bridgwater and Taunton College. Sports Commercial • Oversee and co-ordinate bank staff and other apprentices’ hours with the Sports development manager to ensure all out of hours shifts are covered. • To undertake duties as required within the sports centre / fitness zone e.g. cleaning, maintenance, customer service etc • Sustain, Grow and develop new commercial customers for the sports facilities, • Ensure payment is taken for bookings, via card payments, invoicing including the handling of cash for non-invoiced fees and answering the telephone. • Maintain equipment and keep administrative records including regularly performing risk assessments as appropriate. • To help sustain, grow and develop the college’s commercial income via facility bookings out of hours. • To ensure all of the Sports Facilities ( Including the Health & Fitness Zone) is cleaned and maintained to a high standard • To liaise with external companies regarding the maintenance of equipment within the Sports Centre & Fitness Zone. • Carry out other duties as set by the Sports Development Manager and commercial team. • Organise and run half term activity camps.
