  • Daily administration of system backups and electronic links to the pathology laboratory and local health bodies
  • Investigate and resolve problems in the day-to-day use of computers, printers and other IT related equipment
  • Ensure the effective running of the practice’s IT network and e-mail system, including the management of user profiles
  • To be the first point of contact with the helpdesks of the clinical and other system suppliers
  • Identify areas for development and enhancement of the clinical and other systems to ensure both ease of use and optimum data quality
  • Design and run searches and reports as defined by the partners and/or the practice manager
  • To become the practice expert in all aspects of the clinical system and be able to train other users, both clinical and non-clinical, in the best use of the system
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of hardware and software
  • Report any significant events relating to the IT systems to the practice manager
  • Assist the practice manager in the ongoing development and implementation of the practice’s IT strategy
