The Business and Centre Administrator is responsible for dealing with customer enquiries relating to club memberships and coaching from prospective members, new members and existing members together with supporting the administration of all aspects of club operations and coaching programmes and to support/cover the Reception areas when necessary and to assist with the provision of reception cover. Task will vary but will include;

  • To provide a first class and welcoming reception service to customers, members, visitors and suppliers, to provide catering/beverage services to members and visitors to the club.
  • To administer and support marketing and communication activities, including the website, facebook and instagram
  • To administer other aspects of the tennis programme as requested by the Director of Tennis
  • To work closely and cooperatively with the Tennis Administrator and Customer Service Officers - to assist/attend with the admin of tennis and social events, administer the till charges and ordering of stock, to run club sessions, maintain the reception area
  • To provide support to the Director of Tennis and Club Manager as required including; Taking payments by card/cash and to work jointly with the Tennis Administrator in all aspects of the administration of the holiday camp programme, including promotion, processing applications, receiving and reconciling payments etc.
  • To work closely with all members of staff and respect of the job role; To provide cover/support as requested, to contribute to the process of new members welcome and induction, manage court bookings using Mycourts system.
  • To work closely with the Coaching Administrator with regards to maintaining and running of Junior and Adult coaching programme.

Things to consider

The qualification will be delivered largely remotely and supported with regular site visits.  There will be an option to attend College for additional support/training as necessary but subject to Covid restrictions.

About the employer

South Devon Tennis Centre was established in 2002.  Our facilities include four indoor carpeted courts and four outdoor tarmac floodlight courts.  South Devon hosts various sport development programmes including bootcamps, pilates, yoga, cricket, taekwondo and various other sports although tennis is at the heart of the business.  There is a junior coaching programme in place that runs throughout the year for ages 18 months to 18 years.  Other facilities include a fully operational cafe and bar for members and the hosting of social events.
