Responsibilities include:
- You will need a good knowledge of forest schooling and how it benefits children
- Knowledge of planning model and the EYFS is essential
- Using our online hub, for tracking and observations; the need to be IT literate is essential
- Make sure the main room meets and excels in the areas of the Statutory Framework: remains safe for children, kept clean etc.
- Delegate tasks and support your team's development, whilst ensuring the children in your care are developing well and have the best opportunities accessible to them at all times
- You will be knowledgeable in school readiness and the ability to get children school ready for their big transition
- Give strong support to both the management team as well as your fellow room leaders to ensure you are all achieving the same goals and sharing a drive for success

The aim of the Level 5 Diploma for the Early Years Senior Practitioner qualification is to support leadership and management skills in early years and the knowledge and skills relating to the early years practice. The Early Years Senior Practitioner will be a positive role model for the team. Through clear leadership and effective management, the Senior Practitioner will support and promote best practice within legislative requirements to enable quality provision.
