This apprenticeship is for the manufacture and production in Metal fabrication and welding
Tasks will involve amongst other:
1. Interpretation of drawings
2. Precision cutting and measuring
3. High standards of metal preparation
4. Welding of various applications
5. All tolerances to be to required specifications set by the company and the customers’ requirements
6. Ensure high standards of health and safety

Desired qualifications
Applicants should have 4 GCSEs at grades C/4 or above, including English language, maths and a science subject (predicted grades or equivalent qualifications). Candidates will also be asked to sit some aptitude tests.

At Precision Fabrications Andover we offer bespoke metal pressings and curtain wall, door & window fabrication service for all aspects of cladding and glazing works.
This include cills, reveals, folded and flat panels, bespoke brackets, and general pressings, all for use on building facades.
Our friendly team are based at our factory located in Andover. Here we operate on a fast turnover rate, materials are received, processed and supplied to site.

Our Apprentices will undertake an Advanced Apprenticeship programme under a framework of certification.
This will include a block of off-the-job training at SETA’s training centre in Southampton to gain thorough training into an introduction to Engineering and gain additional practical engineering skills, and to also begin your theory required in order that you will achieve an advanced apprenticeship.
This will take around 20 weeks full time (37 hours a week) at SETA and begin a BTEC in Engineering, which will continue, one day a week after the initial training.
You will be required to complete functional skills at level 2 in Mathematics, English where applicable.
Back in company, you will begin working towards an end test in order to achieve your advanced apprenticeship, cover many required tasks and theories to ensure full competence at the level 3 standards requirements.
This standard will be completed by the successful attainment of the 3-part end test.
The one-day release back to SETA will take two academic years in order to complete the BTEC in Engineering.
For candidates who do well and wish to progress, there is the opportunity to progress further certification.
