Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the creation of a marketing content schedule and work-up monthly themes in-line with topical issues
  • Support the wider Marketing team with asset creation and photo/video library management
  • Manage conversations and reviews on all social media platforms including Google My Business
  • Provide support in the development and implementation of market activation plans to support product / services launches though the production and provision of customer focused marketing communications materials and assets
  • Provision of key marketing materials to effectively communicate CU services USP’s, messaging and positioning for internal teams and channel customers
  • Work with the marketing team to originate, copy write and distribute targeted and engaging content
  • Assist in all areas of digital marketing including content management, social media and blog content, reputation management, inbound marketing initiatives, analytics reporting and website administration
  • Assist in the development of safety alerts and Toolbox Talks
  • Utilising SEO best practice to promote
  • Complete Utilities range of services and increase the overall ranking on Google and Bing
  • Work with the Marketing Manager in the delivery of photography requirements for all sales and marketing activities and assist in the development of a comprehensive image library
  • Utilise graphic design skills in the production of marketing communications materials, digital assets and sales tools including, literature, emails, digital assets, infographics, web banners, icons/logos, presentations, safety talks, tender documents, promotions etc
  • Demonstrate good understanding of creative briefs to produce on-message marketing materials and digital assets, maintaining brand consistency

Future prospects

  • The successful completion of a marketing apprenticeship marks the first step into a career in Marketing and Communication. The next step normally involves becoming aMarketing Executive and later on to a Marketing Manager where you choose either to specialise in events, product, TV, sports, digital, SEO, print, video etc. or you opt for a generalist approach to keep your options open
  • Generally, from there you can either form your own media / marketing agency or continue the career progression to become a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) normally working for a large multinational organisation such as Unilever, Samsung, Facebook or Netflix
  • Each career route has its own advantages –However, due to the increased digitalisation of the world coupled with the recent Covid-19 pandemic, the next generation of marketeers have to be well versed in all forms of communication styles to create content able to ‘cut through the noise’ in the sea of audience media consumption
