An opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Apprentice to join James Bateman Middle School. This role will predominately be involved in assisting the provision of a business support service across the school. The successful candidates will study a Level 3 Business Administrator Standard which will be facilitated through an external provider.  The Trust and School are committed to ensuring that the apprenticeship requirements are fully met in this regard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for any enquiries; ensuring the professional image of the school is always represented
  • Assisting with the marketing and promotion of the school, updating and maintaining the school’s website as required
  • Responding to incoming queries by telephone, and in person, taking and delivering messages in a timely manner, where necessary
  • Providing administrative support for meetings
  • Taking minutes at internal meetings, as required (full training will be provided)
  • Undertaking financial administration duties including processing payments, purchase orders and invoices
  • Utilising I.T systems including an in-house finance system, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Co-ordinating dates/venues for meetings, arranging and booking courses, maintaining CPD records
  • Producing letters and e-mails, as directed, to the required standards and timescales
  • Providing general administration duties, e.g. photocopying, general typing or data inputting, filing etc

Support to the School:

  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons
  • Be aware of, support and ensure equal opportunities for all
  • Contributing to the overall ethos/work/aims of the Trust and James Bateman Middle School
  • Maintaining successful relationships, communicating effectively internally within the school and externally with organisations/professionals
