We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Manufacturing Operative to join a fast-paced manufacturing organisation. The successful candidate will complete the Engineering Technician (Machinist) Apprenticeship and receive job related training within a factory environment operating production machinery.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- You will start with general labouring tasks such as offloading parts of skeleton from laser cutting machines
- Putting skeleton away on suitable pallets
- Operating and settling break press machines
- Programming on break press machines
- General manufacturing tasks in the factory
- Operating other low level production machinery as and when required
Requirements and prospects
Communication skills, Team working, Physical fitness.
Willingness to learn and interest in Manufacturing industry is key as well as the ability to work as part of a team.
GCSE or equivalent English (Grade A*-C (9-4)) essential GCSE or equivalent maths (Grade A*-C (9-4)) essential At least 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*- C) including maths and English. Engineering/manufacturing related qualification would be advantageous

This apprenticeship will be delivered through a mixture of college and work-based learning. Successful candidates will attend our Printworks Campus one day per week (2 days in the first year) to learn the skills/ knowledge required to be successful within this role. They will also receive a visit once a month in their place of work from their assessor, where delivery will take place on a one-to-one basis. In addition, learners will need to be allocated 20% of their contracted hours per week to concentrate on any development activities set Functional Skills qualifications (If required): Functional Skill in English, Functional Skill in maths, Employment Rights and Responsibilities. Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.
