From 1973 to 1986 the company operated as a DAF Trucks franchise, changing to Renault Trucks in 1986. Thompson of Beverley went from strength to strength hosting many an event at their premises and attending Driffield Show regularly, amongst other shows. In 2000 a management buyout was undertaken and Thompson Commercials Ltd came under the ownership of five men who had worked at Thompson Commercials Ltd for most of their working lives. Acquiring our Boroughbridge depot in the process. The company then went on to win the prestigious Motor Transport Award in 2001. By 2004 the Company had also acquired a depot in Teesside and Tyneside adding depots in Grimsby, Sheffield and Boston not long after. Our sister company Premium Leasing Ltd was formed in 2010 allowing us to offer our customers a wider range of services in the Contract Hire department. Thompson Group Ltd was born. May 2013 saw Thompson Group Ltd adding an Isuzu Franchise to their resume, an exciting prospect for the company to be heading into new waters and being able to offer our customers an even wider range of vehicles to cater for their needs.
