Duties will include providing a reception and administrative service to clients and electricians seeking further training and assessment. It is essential to have good IT & communication skills and be able to work accurately under pressure.

We are looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant apprentice to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
Duties of the Administrative Assistant apprentice include providing support to our trainers and clients, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities.
The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organise their work using tools, like MS Excel, Awarding Body systems and office equipment.
If you also have previous experience or knowledge of the electrical industry, this would be an advantage but not essential.
Ultimately, a successful apprentice should assist in ensuring the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our office and All Electrical Training.
Responsibilities will include:
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Organise and schedule assessments
- Allocate learners to training courses
- Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters and forms
- Assist in the preparation of training courses and assessments
- Develop and maintain a filing system
- Maintain client contact lists
- Provide general support to visitors
- Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients
- Liaise with senior administrative assistants to handle requests and queries from senior managers and trainers/assessors
Requirements and prospects
- Can use own initiative
- Computer literate e.g. MS Windows/Outlook
- Basic administration skills
- Polite and friendly manner
- Impeccable telephone manner
- GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4 (or equivalent) in English, maths and ICT or Business studies
Future prospects are good within this small and growing company and it will be reviewed at the end of the apprenticeship.
Things to consider
There is a bus that’s available from Harlow Town to the Pinnacles (Number 14). Please be aware that the last time this bus runs is 8:12am from Harlow Town. The bus starts running again around 4:30pm.
At busy times the successful candidate will need to be flexible in their working hours. Availability to provide sickness cover, extra cover during busy times and the occasional Saturday may be required. Prior notice will be given.
The candidate will have to work some Saturday mornings, this will be after relevant training, and it will be 1 Saturday morning every 3 weeks. The start time of this will be 8:30am and they will finish around 11am / 12:00pm. The salary may vary doing weekends.
There will be long periods of time on the computer.
