We have an opportunity for someone wanting to gain relevant qualifications whilst working in the Adult Care sector. Forming part of the experienced team working and working to provide personal care to adults currently aged from 33 to 65 and over, the successful candidate will be involved with:

  • Assisting clients in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual)
  • Monitoring Clients who may be confused and or who have behavioral problems
  • Assisting in the promotion of continence
  • Assisting in the delivery of care for Clients with end of life care or those who have a progressive illness
  • Assisting with last offices
  • Observing care planning needs for Clients and complete written daily records
  • Assisting in framework of social activities by interacting with Clients and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Centre
  • Answering Nurse call system, giving assistance as required
  • Reporting on the well-being of Clients
  • Making Visitors feel welcome. Provide refreshments/assistance as and when required
  • Making and changing beds, ensuring that rooms are clean and tidy
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment used by Clients I Relatives e.g. wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc.
  • Assisting Clients who need help during meal times and assisting with serving of food and clearing up after mealtimes
  • Escorting Clients travelling to and from the Care Centre on social outings, hospital visits etc. 
  • Participating in Staff and Client meetings as and when required

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Previous demonstrable experience of working within a care environment or situation is not essential but is desirable

Personal qualities

The right candidate will have:

  • A genuine interest in working within a care environment
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • An ability to work as part of a team

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE Grade D/3 in English and maths or equivalent Functional Skills

Future prospects

  • A full time role may be offered on completion of the apprenticeship

We are a shared apprenticeship scheme employing apprentices and placing them with host companies so that they can get the necessary experience to pass their apprenticeship.

An apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and experience you need to apply for a job in the area you have trained in.

We will give you the support to progress into employment, education or further training towards the end of your apprenticeship.
