    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Tasks include all aspects of the busy kitchen:


  • Preparing and cooking foods covering breakfast, bar menu, main restaurant and event menus.  
  • As skills develop this can include complex presentation (as trained) and specialities under the guidance and support of the Head Chef.  
  • Kitchen work includes a focus on food hygiene and cleaning which is an essential part of the work.


Minimum of 30 hours per week to train in all aspects of a successful fine dining kitchen. Own means of transport is a must as we are in Droxford. Shift work including weekends. Rewards include a full share of the tips, job satisfaction and being a part of a young and vibrant team.

This vacancy is no in Southampton - please view location as we are location near Hambledon, Waterlooville. Travel to and from work needs to be planned as you might be on the rota to work late shifts. To attend college once a week for Apprenticeship day release. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. For more information visit:
